Originally planted in 1974 by Thomas Ferguson, this ranch officially joined the Donum portfolio in 2016, though we had sourced fruit from this site for our Carneros Estate Pinot Noir in the 2000s. After replanting the vineyard, we produced our first Chardonnay in 2021. Although this vineyard is only about a mile away from our Carneros Estate, Thomas Ferguson Vineyard (TFV) is much rockier, with large cobblestones and higher silica content soils. This makes it one of the top sites in Carneros for both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
