Donum Estate was founded in 2001 on 190 acres of idyllic, rolling hills in Carneros, and initially planted to about 65 acres of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Today it is home to 91 planted acres, while Donum has expanded to encompass three other estate vineyards. Ferguson Vineyard, just around the corner on Ramal Road and planted to 30 acres is one of the oldest vineyards in Carneros, originally planted in 1974. The Winside Vineyard sits in the heart of the Russian River Valley region, and is planted to 16 acres. Finally, our newest acquisition is a spectacular site in the hills above the town of Bodega, just a few miles from the ocean, and will be planted to 18 acres in 2020 and 2021.
Across all of our vineyards we follow a simple philosophy: work proactively with nature, not against it, to create an environment in which the vines are able to thrive with as little reactive farming intervention as possible.
