Our Winside Vineyard was planted to all Pinot Noir in 1997 and 2008, but over the years, we realized that Chardonnay could also thrive at this site. In 2015, we grafted a small 2-acre block of Pinot Noir to Chardonnay, allowing us to bottle our first vintage of our Russian River Valley Chardonnay in 2016. Compared to our Carneros Estate Chardonnay, the fruit is slightly riper due to the warmth of this site and higher in acidity due to its loamy sand soils.
