Donum was founded nearly 20 years ago, with a commitment to creating the highest quality Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines. We are proud to say that our devotion to winemaking practices has been well- received within the industry and Donum has secured a stellar reputation for producing highly rated, cellar- worthy wines.
Today marks a new season for Donum as we bid farewell to Anne Moller-Racke, who is leaving the Estate to focus on personal wine growing interests. We thank Anne for her dedication and contributions to The Donum Estate wine program.
“This land and these wines have been my focus for years,” said Moller-Racke. “With the completion of the Estate’s new winery and winemaking facilities, and day-to-day operations evolving with a reputable team, the time feels right for me to pursue my own projects; I am eager to embark on the next adventure.”
Since our acquisition of Donum in 2011, our vision has remained steady; to establish Donum as one of the very best California Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wineries. By continually replanting and by searching for - and acquiring - the very best “terroir” land, we carry out this legacy, producing for both composition and quality. Our most recent acquisition includes 100 acres of prime, geographic and climate-ideal land in Bodega, 20 acres of which we will begin planting in the spring of 2020.
We are proud of the expansion of our winemaking capabilities, our new winery – opening during this year’s harvest – and our hospitality center which houses our new sculpture park. We hope to create a space that provides an intersection of wine and art to inspire and unite people across cultures.
To further support our vision, we have also invested in growing our leadership team in operations and marketing, including the recent introductions of Angelica de Vere, our CEO, and Mike McNeil, our Vice President of Sales and Hospitality. Angelica’s deep knowledge of the wine industry and Mike’s dedication to premier customer experiences will help further our goals and provide an outstanding experience for guests who want to enjoy our Estate, or our wines in the comfort of their homes.
We grow and expand without compromise to our core values. Our consistency and quality are maintained by our longtime vineyard manager, Lauro Servin, whose relationship with the Estate dates back to the 1980s when he planted the original ranch vineyards, and our Estate winemaker, Dan Fishman, whose vision and innovation in winemaking has helped grow The Donum Estate capabilities over the last decade. Under their consistent guidance, The Donum Estate is poised to grow and thrive for many generations to come.
We look to the future with pride and gratitude and thank our employees, customers, friends and neighbors for being a part of our proud winemaking legacy.
We hope you will visit us soon, enjoy our wines and come back again and again.
